Clearing Your Energy Field



Last week’s blog covered how we may be energy magnets and when we are not paying attention to protecting our energy field it is easy to pick up unwanted energy that other people are projecting. This is not limited to people we are closely interacting with or having regular conversations. This could be a stressed-out mom standing in line next to you at the grocery store or a disgruntled and irritated person standing a few feet away at the gas station as you pump gas. We come in contact with unwelcome, toxic and negative energies all day long, from multiple sources.

If you get to the end of your day and you feel like you’re dragging and worn out, but realize you didn’t do that much to warrant such fatigue, then you most likely are carrying around a lot of toxic energy that stuck to you as you moved through your day. Other people’s emotions, worries, frustrations, stresses, and concerns. Since this is not your stuff, there is no way for you to mentally or emotionally process it in order to let it go.

A great & easy way to clear your energy field is by using water. A stream of moving water produces negative ions which are believed to remove negative energy from a space. Here are a few ways you can use water to clear your space and increase your energy.


Shower meditation: A shower meditation at the end of the day is a great cleanser.

As you stand under the stream of water say the affirmation, “Let this water wash all the negative energy from my body, mind, and spirit.” Stand in the flow of water for 1 - 2 minutes.


Ocean: A walk on the beach is an amazing way to decompress, clear the mind, take some time for self-care and clear your energy. Wade in the ocean water to about mid-calf. Take a couple of deep breaths in and out as you release tension and stress of the day and feel your feet ground into the sand. Picture a white light extending from the soles of your feet and traveling 10-12 feet into the ground rooting you to Mother Earth, helping to ground your energy. Wading in the water for 10 minutes as the waves lap over your feet provides a healing clearing of your whole body’s electromagnetic field.


Hand washing: During the middle of the day if you are feeling drained, overwhelmed or maybe had an unwelcome interaction that left you feeling emotionally discombobulated or drained you can use running water in the sink to clear your space. Allow the water to run over your hands and inside wrists for 1-2 minutes as you repeat the above mantra. This will provide a quick energy clearing and little pick me up in the middle of your day.
